greed is a poison.
hatred is a poison, too;
ignorance makes three.
behold the roots of evil;
Mara smiles, and says, "Pick one!"

    Tanka is an ancient Japanese form of poetry, older than Haiku. Tankas
    are composed of 31 syllables in 5 lines, with the number of syllables per
    line as follows:  5-7-5-7-7.  For more info about Tanka poetry, check out
